Drill Chucks
A drill chuck is a specialised type of clamp used to hold an object with a cylindrical cross-section. In a drilling or milling machine, the chuck holds the rotating tool. Jaws are commonly used in chucks to hold the tool or workpiece. The jaws are usually arranged radially symmetrically. Jaw chucks may require a key to tighten or loosen, so there are keyed and keyless drill chucks.
