The drill chuck arbor is used to fix the drill chuck in the machine tool. The arbor is a kind of adapter between the socket in the machine spindle and the drill chuck. On the drill chuck side, there is usually a small drill taper (DIN 238) or an inch thread in the shank. Drill heads with a thread are mostly used on electric drills and screwdrivers. Self-locking drill chuck mandrels are used on machine tools (e.g. tailstock pins, column and table drills, CNC machine tools with DIN69871, MAS 403-BT, HSK socket). A puller is required to loosen the drill chuck from the cone; it is not possible to pull it off by hand. The drill chuck is simply screwed onto the threaded pins.
